What is the She is Seen event?

The She is Seen event is a fun and empowering afternoon where you will build new connections and have special images of yourself captured. The vision behind the event is that throughout the afternoon of activities and conversation with fellow women you will become empowered, and when it's your time to jump in front of the camera, you'll have a group of hype girls to boost you up! Whilst I am a Photographer and the idea is to capture your essence, this event is so much more than that. It's an excuse to spend an afternoon celebrating yourself, to reconnect to your inner woman and share in that experience with others.

A few words from Shan

Self love shoots are as much a journey of self growth for me as they are for my clients. Holding the She is Seen event is an extension of that. I am on my own journey to connect with my feminine energy; and I’ve found the best way to do this is by just being around other women. That is what drove my photography in the direction it has, the warmth and inspiration I feel after capturing another woman. The stories I hear and the ways that I learn from each and every one. There is so much to take away from an event like this, you can read more about that below!

Before the event

Once your deposit is paid, you'll be sent a contract to sign and a questionnaire to complete. This questionnaire is super important as it helps me get to know you, we cover some discussion topics that will be used in an activity at the event and also dietary requirements for the delicious platter!

You'll be sent a guide that has all the details, including where to meet for your specific event and how to prepare.

I'll also be in touch the week and day before to touch base and check that all our attendees are still good to go. These events are usually outdoors, so I typically allocate a back-up date incase the weather means we are unable to go ahead. Clients have the opportunity to come along to the back up date or use their credit towards the next event, or a shoot.

The day of the event

It's important that you arrive early and are ready to go at the time the event is due to start.

On a more positive note, if you are feeling awkward and a bit nervous to be in front of the camera - don't worry, you will receive plenty of guidance on the day. As well as this, a photoshoot isn't as serious as you might think. There are plenty of ways to have fun, and it's not all about standing still and smiling at the camera. With kids or a partner to keep you busy, time will fly by and the moments will create themselves (and make for beautiful images). With my guidance and some prompts here and there, you should walk away feeling pretty good about it!

The gallery

Your images will be delivered to you via an online gallery where you can download your images in high resolution or web-size. Your images are hand-picked by me and carefully selected based on a number of factors such as sharpness, angles, facial expressions etc.

Consent to sharing

The sharing of your images is not an expectation, however I ask all of my clients in their questionnaires whether or not they are happy for their images to be shared. I love to share my work, it is how I continue to grow and encourage potential clients to book. However, I am more than happy to keep your galleries private and I will never share a photo without consent.

Leaving a review

Client reviews and feedback is so important to a small business like mine! Word of mouth works WONDERS and it is how I got to where I am today. Following receipt of your gallery, I'll let you know how and where you can leave a review for me. If you'd like to send it privately and direct to me, you can do so via email.
