This is the first of my new “Client Highlight” posts, where I want to spend a little time talking about my clients and the work that they do, and just hype these gal’s up because they’re awesome!⁠

Lara is a Personal Trainer and Online Coach based in Matamata, NZ, whose purpose is to lead women to elevate their lives and undergo profound transformations by helping them recognise their true value and to embody their highest self. Lara’s vibe is warm, fun and relatable. Whilst she connects with her clients through sharing knowledge, she also shows up online and shares personal experiences and struggles, providing her audience with an insight into the mind of a hardworking female entrepreneur (as well as insanely relatable content for fellow women in business). ⁠

Identifying her aesthetic

Lara’s brand colours are primarily soft creams, pinks and lilacs, so I created a preset with cooler, pinker tones to match. Obviously, Lara is a PT and thus showcasing herself in active wear is representative of her brand, however for this shoot Lara really wanted to show a few other parts of her personality and have some content that was more “formal”.

Getting the shots

I told Lara to bring anything relevant or reflective of her/her brand along for the shoot, which included a range of outfits (activewear, comfy and formal), pairs of shoes, favourite books and accessories, things in her brand colours etc. We had three main “personalities” we wanted to showcase in this shoot so that she could have a range of content that wasn’t just focused on fitness. This was the fitness vibe, formal vibe and casual vibe. Lara admits she spends most of her time in her activewear (I think we all do), so she wanted her audience to see that she’s not just a “fit girl”, but she also loves to get dressed up, and dressed down (e.g. comfy sweater, pants and slippers!)

Adding video

We set up our iPhones and my second camera to capture video footage throughout the session, which meant there was loads of content that could be repurposed and used in a "Reel" format. Behind the scenes footage is an incredible addition to your content, and I offer this as an add on to my services.

Using her images & content

Lara has done the most incredible job of utilising her new content, it’s actually taught me a lot about how versatile these images can be and she’s really just a star client, I reckon! Lara has used her images across her new website, her social media, app and collaterals. Her personalised “stock photos” we created for her act as beautiful backdrops to Instagram stories and feed posts, and the video content has levelled up her Reels by truly showcasing the woman behind her brand. I personally think that these snippets of professional content weave so beautifully into Lara’s Instagram feed, where she shares both educational and raw, relatable content.
